The big 30!...

Its here!
The big 30 has hit me today!!
I have been dreading this day for some time but it hasn't been all bad!

This weekend I went to Blackpool with 7 friends, we went to Funny Girls (which is a cabaret drag show)...it was amazing!!! I had the best time! We had brilliant seats and waitress service all night, a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday.
We went to the Pleasure Beach too and went on some of the rides, Steeplechase being the funniest ride I have been on!! Its like a carousel horse on a roller coaster track, you sit in pairs on a horse and there are 3 horses in a row. 6 of us went on the ride - 2 on each horse - and they start together and its a race to see who finishes first. Well, I haven't laughed so much for ages!! My horse came last! Typical!!

Thank you to the girlies for making it so special xx

Blackpool beach

Tia Maria and coke - my first birthday drink!!!

My birthday cake from the girls.

Me and my sister at Funny girls!!

Today, though, I have had quite a lazy day - sat on the sofa watching the Dexter series! My Mum has been to see me and my good friend Nikki too. She even bought me a balloon!!
I have had beautiful flowers, lots of cards and I haven't felt as moody as I thought I would!!! At least I managed to get out of bed!

Oh and Happy Valentines day too everyone!!!!

Chocolate crunch & pink custard...

Yum!!

So I mentioned in my last post that I was off to my parents to have dinner and that for desert I was having Chocolate Crunch and Pink Custard.......awesome!!
Well, it was very awesome and I thought I would share the deliciousness with you all and give you the recipe!!
For those who aren't sure what this is, it is a pudding that they used to serve in school dinners back in the 80/90s - it was amazing, the best thing about school!!

My mum found the recipe a few years back and we now only have it once in while - to keep the specialness of it!!!!

Chocolate crunch

8oz S.R Flour
6oz butter
5oz sugar
1oz cocoa powder
1 egg
Bit of milk
and a 8 x 8 square tin

Melt the sugar and butter together in a saucepan over a low heat.
Remove from heat, then add flour and cocoa powder - mix with a wooden spoon.
Add beaten egg with a little bit of milk and mix well.
Put mix into floured tin and cook on gas mark 4 (180) for about 40-45 minutes.
When cool cut into squares.

Pink Custard!

1 packet of Strawberry or Raspberry blancmange.
2-3 tablespoons of sugar
1 pint of milk

Empty sachet of blancmange into a bowl, add sugar and 3 tablespoons of milk - mix to a smooth paste.
Heat the remaining milk in a saucepan until warm.
Add a little of the warm milk to the paste - mix - add the rest and return it to the saucepan.
Bring to the boil, then stirring continuously, simmer gently for a least a minute (until thickened)

Pour into a jug and voila! You have your pink custard!!!

Take a slice of chocolate crunch, put in a bowl, add your custard and enjoy the utter yummyness of it!!

Ooooooooh I want more now!!!!!

Create dreams, hopes & wishes...

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Last night I was a very busy bee! I was making a 50th birthday card for a lovely lady in work, so I got all my bits n bobs out of the cupboard and got to work. Its crazy how much mess I make when I'm being crafty!!!
Shes quite crafty herself so I thought I'd make her a card in sort of the style of scrapbooking (never done this before!)....

What do you think?

And here is the finished product!! I'm quite pleased with it!!!

Ooooh I'm off to my parents for dinner soon and guess what the pudding is?
Chocolate Crunch and Pink Custard!!! Old school!!
Fabulous!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hearts galore...

Its February already...
The month of Valentines Day....... and my birthday!!

So to get into the lovey dovey spirit and to celebrate me being a Valentines Baby I went around my humble abode and took a picture of all the hearts I could find!!!
(I think I may have too much time on my hands!)

My Bear!

On a recipe book...

On my coffee canister...

Hanging on my door...

Drawn by Doodle and stuck on his door...

My PJs...

My slippers...

My socks...

On the bubbly bath bottle...

Now its time for me to have a nice hot bubbly bath, put on my PJs and my slippers, and have a huge mug of coffee! (Decaff of course!)
