Ooooh Flowers...

This weekend has been lovely.

My cousin came down from England, on Friday, and we met his girlfriend for the first time - she is very lovely.
She bought me beautiful flowers!!
I love flowers - they make you smile even on a grey day, and in Wales that happens alot  :(

Bootiful Tulips!

I also got flowers from my fabulous sister

So I have been doubly spoilt this weekend!!
Lucky me!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend too.

Chocolatey goodness...

I've had quite a busy day!

Taken Deak to football training, adopted some fishes (my sisters friend could no longer keep them), went to TK Max for a browse, went to the pet shop for Fudges essentials, got stuck in the car park of the pet shop for about 30 minutes - crazy busy for some reason, went to Iceland to stock up my freezer, came home and finally had a cuppa coffee!! Phew!!!

But I did find this cute coffee canister in TK Max for £2! It was calling me so I had to buy it!! Its a bit battered around the edges but I love it!!

Then me and Deak decided to make some cakes (we stole the idea from my sister and my niece!)

After saying he no longer wants rice crispies for breakfast, I thought we'd use them up and make crispie cakes!! Yum!!

Spoon out....
And they are delicious!!!

Looking forward to a relaxing Sunday - hopefully!!

Have a lovely weekend all

Twinkle Twinkle...

Today I took time out from being lazy and decided to do something productive!

I made a star!!

Its a gift for the my very good friends Mum. She has been helping me with tips on how to make a dress (I'm hoping to make one for a party in March), and so I thought I'd sew her up a thank you! Plus I got to use one of my new ribbons! 26p ribbon!
I've now gone back to being lazy and am about to go to sleep, my most favourite pastime!!!

Hope you are all having a lovely week, 2 more days til the weekend. Yay!!

26 pence!!...

I'm a thrifty shopper! I buy most of my clothes on eBay or if I'm splashing out I'll go to Primark!!
I like looking through charity shop rails for that one item that will stand out and you have to buy it, like my retro Dunlop bag i got for £3.50 which many people in work have tried to pinch from me!!!

Lately I have been building up my fabric collection, buttons, ribbons, threads and all things crafty, so I popped into Hobbycraft as I was told they had a clearance sale. I browsed through the boxes of all the sale stuff and nothing caught my eye but as I was leaving I noticed a box marked '26p'.
Intrigued, I went over and got all excited by what I found.......

Ribbons!!! 26p!!! Now I know its very sad to get excited over ribbon but I can normally only get a few at a time as they are sometimes quite pricey but I went crazy and bought a whole load of them!!! The reels are a bit tatty but the ribbon is fine, so I will be using them to make more bits 'n' bobs!!! Yay!!

Dippy eggs...

I've had such a lovely day!

I took my Doodlebug to his football practise (in the rain!), he's getting very good at tackling which he was afraid to do when he first started.
After that we went home to chill before going out for dinner with the family.

For a small snack I decided to have dippy egg and soldiers. My mum used to make me these when I was little. The egg has to be perfectly runny. I don't like it when the yolk goes hard. Ack!

Perfect Perfect!!!

 It was delicious!!!

And, do you know what else was delicious? The meal I had later on!!! I love food!!!

My parents kindly took my family and my sisters family to the Maenllwyd in Machen. Its a lovely little pub that serves the best food. I had Steak & Ale pie, mash, peas and gravy. Hmmmmmm It was fab, but I couldn't eat it all. I was full. Too full for pudding, which isn't like me at all!!!

Now that my food has gone down though, I've opened a Terry's Chocolate Orange WITH popping candy.

Naughty ;)

Wednesday, 12 January 2011 a nutshell.

I thought I'd share some facts about me, so that you can get to know me in a weird roundabout sort of way!!!!

I have an irrational fear of wasps.

I drink about 8 cups of coffee a day. It's not healthy!

I wish movie love was real.

I always wanted a wooden rocking horse.

I love daisies. They are my favourite flower.

I talk too much.

I don't eat any fruit.

I wish I didn't have to be a grown up sometimes.

I make an awesome Sheppard's pie.

I can't dance.

I definitely can't sing.

I defy the above and do this loudly. In the car. Like a crazy person.

I will, one day, own a VW split screen camper van.

I think a rainbow is natures perfect painting.

I mash up ice-cream with my spoon before I eat it.

I prefer baths to showers.

I don't like deodorant, it itches!

I love the words to songs.

I enjoy sleeping. Far too much. I wish it was my job!!

I love my family so much.

I love my friends, and know who the real ones are.

I like helping people.

I can't argue.

I would like to work with animals, not people!!

I like taking photos but not being in them.

I like it when the trees grow new leaves in the spring.

I wish my cousins lived closer.

I have to check the front door is locked numerous times when I leave the house, sometimes this involves me driving home to do it! OCD!!!

I am scared about getting old.

I wish I still believed in Santa. It was magical!!!

Back to the daily grind :(

I went back to work today after a really nice break over Christmas. Its hard getting up at 6.30am when you've been getting up around 9am every day!! I was a little bit grumpy this morning!!!

I also find it hard to get up when its still dark outside. I love the winter, but it makes you that little bit lazier than you would normally be!!
Summer sun in the mornings makes you happy - winter darkness in the morning makes you want to pull the duvet over your head and go back to sleep!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

My work is surrounded by grassed areas and trees so is like a mini nature reserve.
We have bunnies, birds, cats, foxes, (we also saw a rat once but that's just icky!). But my favourite visitor is this little guy...........
He is so cute!!! He just wanders about and he's out on the grass nearly every day!!!

My favourite shop!

I went to St Ives last year and imagine my happiness when I stumbled across my favourite shop!!

I was in my element there....I just wanted to buy everything, but with lack of funds I settled for a blue and white polka dot key ring, which I love to bits!! I like all their fabric and bags and clothes and everything!!!!
I was like a kid in a sweet shop! "I want that, and that, and that!"

At Christmas when I opened my present from my parents, what did I find?.....................

I was chuffed to bits!!

Thanks Mum and Dad!!!!

My Doodlebug

This is my 9 year old son, Deakon. Or Doodlebug as we have come to call him....not quite sure how that came about but its been his nickname since he was a toddler.
Yesterday Deakon was very emotional, very teary but didn't know why. Its sad to see him like that. He said nothing happened in school, no-one said anything mean and he wasn't 'sad' as such he just said he didn't know what was wrong.
I think he may be finding it hard to get back into the school routine....2 weeks off for Christmas, lots of excitement and late nights watching TV. He even stayed up on New years Eve with us this year.
He cheered up after a while last night and by bed time he was his usual self and trying to dodge getting into bed and going to sleep, the usual "I need a drink", "Can I have a hug"!!

Deak in the snow before Christmas
Deakon had a LOT of lego for Christmas this year, it seems to have taken over the house. We spent about 3 days trying to put it all together! He enjoys building things and making things, he's alot like me when I was younger which is nice!
Deak has asked if he can have his own Blog, he's seen mine and thinks its "cool", so on the weekend we might get one set up for him, add it to mine so I can keep an eye on it!!
Hopefully when he comes home from school today he will be alot happier than yesterday. Fingers crossed.

The little doods!

I've always been interested in making things. I used to want to be a Blue Peter presenter so I could make things like they used to (double sided cello-tape and some loo rolls!!) I also watched Tony Hart and Art Attack!!
I remember making a paper mâché pig money box. I didn't put enough layers of newspaper on and it kind of folded in on itself in the end!

Last year I started making lavender filled hearts, I made some for 2 of my friends wedding favours as well, they were very well received I'm happy to say.
Wedding favour hearts

Plain lavender hearts

Personalised lavender hearts
Before Christmas I started making festive ones, theses are my favourite things I've made so far and they look lovely on the Christmas tree!
Christmas hearts with cinnamon sticks.

Another thing I tried was little monster type things, my son loved them so I made him a larger version for his birthday last year! It's still on his bed now.
The 'Little Doods'!
The giant 'little dood'!!

I'll be trying some new things this year, I really want to attempt something like a tote bag....fairly simple I'm told but it may take me a few goes!! If I fail I'll simply try again xxx

The mystery of the blue feet

Fudge a few weeks old

I have a bunny named Fudge. He was born of the 4th August 2010, which incidentally is the same birthday as my sister (she did, however, state that "I am NOT sharing my birthday with a Rabbit.")
Fudgey lives in our living room, he is allowed to roam about the room when we are home on an evening. He races round and round in circles, binkies and just flops on his side and relaxes!
He has a large cage, which used to be my friends dog cage, so he has plenty of room.

Fudge chilling!

Yesterday, I got Fudgey out of his cage as normal, and when he lay out flat with his paws out and back feet out we noticed he had blue feet!!!
So, we looked around his cage and noticed that the wooden fruit shapes he chews were underneath his water bottle (its drips occasionally). The BLUE one was the wetest and was the culprit of the blue paws!
So Fudgey now has a blue rinse on his fluffy feet! Oooops!

New blogger!

Ok, so I thought I would start the new year by doing something new. Ive decided to keep a blog. Now, I don't have the most exciting of lives but  I'll make a go of this. It may take me a while to get going, so bear with me!!! Hope everyone had a fab Christmas and New Year and here's to breaking all the resolutions you made :)
